Canyon Lake Freshman now 2-0, beat Cedar Ridge
The Canyon Lake Freshmen Boy’s Basketball team improved to 2-0 on the
season beating Round Rock Cedar Ridge 39-36. For the second straight game the Hawks relied on a great defensive team effort to pull out a game that came down to the last possession.
“Since day one we have talked about defense being the key to be successful,” coach Luke Chapman said. “The kids have bought in and we made enough stops tonight to come out with a big win.”
Leading the way for the Hawks was Garrett Winters with 15 points. Taylor Lucas chipped in with 6 points and Skylar Tschoepe and Branton Kindla added 5 apiece.
“We are 2-0, which is nice, but we can still improve and get better,” Chapman said. “That’s what we really have to focus on—working each day to get better and better. The wins will take care of themselves.”
