This week at Canyon Lake was right at the cusp of being one of the best, but a Volleyball loss to the 7th Ranked Wimberley Texans in 5 sets would be the only downer.
It was a game for the ages as the Hawks had just as good of a chance for pulling off a win than the Texans.
Megan Vorhis had a season high 22 kills while Cassidy Felps finished with 41 assists and Lainee Moses amassing 23 digs in this battle.
Canyon Lake will be back in action this week with two road games against Fredericksburg on Tuesday and then to Bandera for a Friday tilt. If the Hawks can pull off a sweep for those two games, then they will have finished the first round of District 28-4A in 2nd place and just one game behind Wimberley.
CL’s Varsity football team had an off week, but the Hawks Gold and JV squads both finished with wins over Seguin last Thursday. This week district will start up when Canyon Lake will travel to Taylor.
Two of the Sub-Varsity clubs will have those Ducks at the Hawk Nest on Thursday as both the Freshman and Junior Varsity finished pre-district with 4-1 records.
The Lake’s Gold team will have a 3 game series against Fredericksburg with that first game being in Bille Land. It will be the first road game of the year for the team playing like Gold.
Cross Country will be running on Wednesday this week in Llano which will be the same course the team will run in District 28-4A action on October 17th.
CL’s Fall Tennis group will be facing off against Liberty Hill next week in Bi-District action which will be a first for this sport. Congrats!!
Come out and be a part of the Canyon Lake Sports and Go Hawks!!
