Baseball’s District 28-4A Standings & Past Week’s Scores

District 28-4A had another week of tournaments with all the teams playing multiple games in a matter of days.

              Let’s Go Hawks!!

This type of schedule will benefit teams that have an abundance of pitching since each pitcher is dealing with a pitch-count that will have teams on many occasions going deeper into their bullpen and a situation that will usually not play out during district play.

You will also notice that teams with a bad week might come from the level of competition as Fredericksburg (as an example) found themselves playing 5A and 6A schools.

You will notice that Boerne was in that same situation and would account for a record that will not show how good that group might be when faced with teams in the same classification.

CL had the best week among the six schools finishing with four wins and one loss.

Canyon Lake will be hosting their tournament starting on Thursday when they play Carrizo Springs (4:30pm) and SA Burbank (7:00pm).

The Hawks are presently in there best start ever and have already passed every year’s record but 4 with these 9 wins. In the last two weekends, The Lake has played in a tournament championship game.

Those two losses were by one run in each giving you an idea of how well this season is progressing. Pitching has been the anchor in keeping the contests close for the wins with an era (earned run average) under 1 run per game.

Should be a good week to enjoy a spring break at the Hawk Nest and catch some baseball.
