Canyon Lake’s Junior Varsity (12-3-1) continues a string of victories that has not been a common occurrence since the school started over 10 years ago after sweeping Fredericksburg Billies in their 2nd double header in two days, 17-4 and 12-6.

               Let’s Go Hawks!!

Two powerhouse programs have succumb to an offensive onslaught that now has CL with a, (4-0) District 28-4A record and 6 game winning streak after todays victories.

The Lake used an 11 run first inning in that first contest that put helped in coasting to a win while the 2nd outing went just two innings after a 4 run first followed by another landslide of points of 13 during that second inning that ended the game without a chance of playing more.

Canyon Lake placed their hits in a covey of walks (all told 21 for those two contests) which resulted in this convincing double header sweep.

The Hawks have a bevy of young players and had a chance to use some varsity Sophmorea and Freshman to help get some extra work for those players.

Gunnar Walker continued his hot hitting streak with another 2 hit first game that had a double and 2 rbi’s as CL had 12 walks to only 2 strikeouts.

Walker has reached base in every contest (16 games) thus far and is presently on an 8 game hitting streak. During this streak, Walker his hitting a healthy .600 batting average.

Bade Holland got his 3rd victory for this campaign as he ran his record to 3-1 in giving up just 3 hits and two earned runs.

CL’s Junior Varsity will be back in action next Monday when they hit the Devil’s BackBone for another double header with the first pitch commencing at 5pm in Wimberley.

A short drive to see a promising pipeline for the Varsity in the coming years as the Hawks will be working on bringing down one more District 28-4A Titan.

Way to Go Hawks!!
