With two weeks in the book  we will allow some rubber necking for the drive by fans to conjure up some thoughts on what might be in store as this district slate plays out.

For instance, Taylor will be out of the running for a playoff spot while the Lampasas & Austin LBJ game this week will be giving an inside lane for that coveted first seed in the post-season.

Consistency would be the operable word for Canyon Lake with a season that has seen some great offensive outputs and others that have not had as good of results.

In the game between The Lake and Fredericksburg this week, has a Billie team that does not want to suffer their 3rd straight district loss. Which would all but have FHS looking up at all the other teams going to the playoffs. Fredericksburg’s remaining games would be Taylor (a win) and Lampasas (a loss). That would cement the Billies in a 5th place district finish.

A Billie win would have the Hawks needing a win in their final contest with Burnet which would instill some tie-breaker rules to help in seeding those 3rd and 4th slots.  So who would be in the playoffs? This saga and would mean a 3 way tie and those final scores adding up for seeing if losses and wins added up for getting a bid.

The Bulldogs 15 point win over the Billies is the only known factor on the differential of points for wins comes into play. The maximum you can reach is 17 which explains that 17 point forfeit win in last week’s postponement with the Hawks game against Taylor.

                Let’s Go Hawks!!

After this week’s games a clear leader in the victor of the LBJ/Lampasas game and a do or die game for Freddie.

Burnet has already secured a win this week over Taylor who will have their 2nd forfeited game.

Cliff notes: Hawks will need to continue working on minimizing those ‘mistakes’ that has caused hard ache this year and an improved defense could help be a catalyst for a Hawk chance to order playoff T-Shirts.

Go Hawks!!
