Softball’s Lady Hawks Run Away from Burnet in Win, 11-1

Hawks continue winning ways after beating Burnet, 11-1.

The Lady Hawks notched their 2nd win on the road in Burnet with an, 11-1 win over the Bulldogs.

“Last night was the most complete game we have played all season,” Head Coach Hayley Galloway said. “I am so proud of the way they played. Everything from offense, defense, pitching, and even our energy was the best we have seen yet.”

Coach Galloway continued, “We came out in the top of the first and put up two runs and then got three quick outs in the bottom of the first. I really think that set the tone for the rest of the game. We putter foot on the gas early and never let up. We are hoping to continue that style of play this weekend in Blanco.”

It was the second game that had the Hawks with a plethora of extra base hits totaling 6 with 3 doubles and 3 triples.

Having 3 triples was a first in a while for a Hawk team as this hit is one of the rarest of the 3 types of extra base hits.

Madison DeLeon had one of each and Shelby Porter finished with two doubles. Both players were on the bottom of the batting order which is a good sign for players to show their power.

Emma Lane and Riley Glenn-Millhouse continued their power hitting contributing triples to the offensive arsenal in this run-away win.

Kenzie Sayles gets her second win in the circle.

Fourteen hits was the most this season as CL scored in every inning that allowed an early exit with a 10 run rule coming into effect the second in a row.

Kenzie Sayles got the win from the circle as The Lake will now prepare with 3 games on Thursday in the Blanco Tournament.

Way to Go Hawks!!
