The 16th Ranked Canyon Lake (THSB Poll) took care of business in a win over San Antonio Cole, with 5 games on the horizon starting Thursday at the Hawk Tournament, beating Cole, 10-0.

                   Let’s Go Hawks!!

Hunter Anderson (4 innings) and Tanner Schultz (one inning) combined for this 4th shut-out this season.

CL had 4 shut-outs during their first 9 season to show how much this part of the Hawk’s baseball has improved.

It was Hunter’s 3rd shut-out where he started a game and The Lake has now amassed 22 starting with the 2018 campaign.

“I felt I was doing well and was throwing strikes and filling out the zone,” H Anderson remembered. “With our good defense it allows us (the pitchers) to go right at the hitters.”

On thoughts bout the rest of this week’s games,, “We have one day to prepare and I think we will do real well because we have a more complete team and by being this deep will take us to new heights.”

Hunter Anderson throws 1-hitter against SA Cole.

There are countless ways to win a baseball game and on this night, CL got a ton of help from the Visitors as Cole pitched in 6 errors and that combined with pitching (a one-hitter) had this night colored Hawk Green & Gold.

Schultz struck out the side for his inning of work and combined that with his 2 hits and 2 rbi’s for this white-wash.

That one hit for SA Cole was erased trying to steal by Catcher Chase Anderson who has completed this feat 7 times in 12 attempts so far. As a team, CL has a respectable .949 fielding percentage which combined with a 1.98 team earned run average (era) has helped the Hawk’s with some good ammo as this week continues tomorrow.
