Hawk’s Baseball Prepare for District Against Central Catholic on Tuesday

Catcher Chance Anderson continues a strong defense with 2 passed balls in 83 innings of work.

Canyon Lake will start district play next Tuesday and as the standings show below is seeing a Boerne club that has compiled an almost perfect record with many of their victories against stiffer competition.

            Way to Hit’em Hard Hawks!!

That one Greyhound loss to Georgetown was their last game of that tournament against a team ranked in the Top 10 in 5A.

CL has not played near the same group of schools and the teams that would qualify, were losses,  see Calallen, Dripping Springs and Victoria East. The Lake is still ranked 11th in the state of Texas (THSB) and Boerne held onto their #2 spot.

Wimberley continues to struggle and finished their week with a double header loss to Cornerstone Christian. The Hawks can vouch for how tough that team can be when they faced Cornerstone and lost two years ago.

Bandera has reverted back to last season with a blow out loss to Pearsall, 25-5 which was their only game during spring break.

Davenport came up short against Navarro losing a double header but did play well in that first contest losing by one run. The Wolves are still playing around the  .500 mark before district play gets started.

Fredericksburg ended their week winning two out of three against competition that would be classified as decent.

Remember that all but 2 schools will qualify for a post-season chance and these battles start next Tuesday for 5 weeks.

Canyon Lake can see how they match up with Boerne in their game with Central Catholic on Tuesday. These Buttons lost last week’s game with the Greyhounds and will have a return contest this Friday.

Come early to the game on Tuesday as their will be a presentation honoring Head Coach Victor Escamilla who reached the 400 win plateau last week.
