Canyon Lake won the Comal Clash Tournament after taking Moody to the cleaners with Back-to Back-to Back results leading to a, 10-0 win over Corpus Christi Moody.

NEW ADVERTISER THAT IS READY TO MIILK SHAKE YOU UP! Go Hawks!!

Those Backs came in the form of seeing Griffen Williams first two plate appearances going yard driving in 4 runs which now has him standing with 99 rbi’s for his career. The next closest? Tyler Pauly with 61.

Another Back was an inning where Griffen and Hunter Anderson went back to back with Hunter Anderson going first as his homer went over the wall just over the left center field fence. Then Griffen Williams’ line drive homer into the power alley. That happened in the 2nd inning when both batter’s started a barrage of hits and CL’s back-to-back 5 run outbursts.

In that opening stanza, The Lake’s first five batters reached base with a walk (Brayden Welch), two singles (Chase Anderson & Carter Williams), a double coming from Hunter Anderson and a 3 run homer for Griffen Williams.

Canyon Lake batted around their lineup that made things fall into place much easier for pitcher John Gulley who would give up 5 hits and no walks while striking out 4 Trojans for his first Hawk win.

                         Way to Go Hawks!!

Chase Anderson broke the 100 hit mark for his career during this Clash and the next closest player is Hunter, which so happens. has this Anderson chasing Chase with 86 hits.

Speaking of those top of the heap records, Hunter Anderson scored 8 runs in this 5 game stint and now has reached 75 runs scored topping Assistant Coach Travis Walker’s 65 that he accumulated during his playing days.

This contest would be the best case scenario that led to a shortened game and kept CL’s top 2 pitchers being able to rest, the District 27-4A schedule, now will be the main course with Davenport coming to the Hawk Nest this coming Tuesday for a 6:00pm start.

Then on the road at pre-season favorite Boerne starting at that same time on Thursday.

Canyon Lake will hopefully reach some more back-to-backs during district play!!

OTHER TIDBITS:
* Head Coach Victor Escamilla reached 100 wins as the Hawk’s Coach and now resides with 102.
The Lake has 6 shut-outs for this season and CL reached 7 last year and 10 during the 2021 season.

* Griffen Williams has 19 homers which is 13 more than what Coach Travis Walker (6) reached.
