Canyon Lake prepared for the playoffs in their, 8-0 win over Bandera on Monday night in a game that was delayed due to weather last week.

                     Way to Go Hawks!!

All 4 seeded District 27-4A teams have already been secured but finishing this one game would give a chance for one last game to shore up how CL can optimize this year’s post-season.

The Lake had 4 pitchers pitch-in for a 3 hit shut-out while CL’s offense rapped 11 hits in this win.

Three of the Hawk pitchers (Hunter Anderson-Griffen Williams-Luke Roskin) went 2 innings each and that final 7th frame had Hayden Baker on the mound.

In Canyon Lake’s last 9 games the top of the batting order has scored 11 runs in the first inning and have batted .483 while also drawing 5 walks.

It’s no wonder that The Lake are 8-1 during this stretch by being able to put pressure on an opposing team right out of the gate.

Let’s Go Hawks & Beat SA Kennedy!!

That was the result in this win as the first 4 batters reached base and hence a 4 run cushion that would end up being enough for an 18th ranked Lake 20th win.

Each of the Hawks pitchers had enough work to refine their repertoire and preparing for San Antonio Kennedy.

There was some other benefits in seeing some utility players being able to make a hit during their audition when Tristan Roberts’ double and Lucas Lemore starting CL’s 7th inning with a single which led to a 2 run final inning.

Hunter Anderson and Luke Roskin led Canyon Lake with 2 hits a piece with Carter Williams’ two rbi’s to start the game. Carter has knocked in 28 Hawks this year which ranks 5th on the Season All-Time list.

Griffen Williams 38 2021
Tyler Pauly 33 2021
Carter Williams 28 2023

With a few more good games, Carter Williams, could make a run in reaching Big Brother’s 38 rbi’s that was achieved during his sophomore year.

SA Kennedy has an 18-8 record but have lost 4 of their last 6 outings.

CL’s first game will commence this Thursday at Kennedy High School starting at 7pm.

That 2nd battle will be at the Hawk Nest starting at that same time and Saturday (in case of a tie) would be at Pieper High School at Noon.

Let’s GO HAWKS!!
