It was a week that saw some growing pains (in the form of losses) and positive strides in all the games.
First off, The Hawks Volleyball, saw some decent competition after winning one game in the Peiper Tournament. The ladies came out of the tourney sporting a, 7-7 record and will have a road game on Tuesday in Somerset and then off to another large school tournament in Seguin.

Water Polo saw some firsts for the Ladies as this is the first season with a full contingent of players. The CL Women did take a win for their 2nd of the season and continues to get offensive moments which was not happening last season.
“The girls have scored more goals in five games than they did in eight games last season plus 2 program wins,” Coach Page Small said excitedly. “We are scoring more goals per game but our inability to play counterattack defense appears to be our achilles heel.”
Coach Small then turned his attention to the boys, “We are struggling with consistency. Taking too many possessions off and swimming station to station instead of releasing for the ball helping and these are glaring issues we’re trying to clean up.”
After the tournament Coach Small summed it up, “Boys ore improving in a lot of areas, mostly they are now setting up for power plays and learning to play zone defenses.”

Tennis took last week off and will face Davenport at the Hawk Nest this Tuesday with a 4pm start time.
Football looked like a team that used some WD-40 and the results had some smooth improvements as the real deal begins this week with the Freshman’s kick-off will start the season at 5:00pm at home followed by the Junior Varsity.
Varsity will take the Devil’s Back-Bone with a 7:30pm kick-off.
A lot on the schedule and Let’s Go Hawks!!
