Football: District 14-4A Standings & Recap

The ReSporter’s recap of last week’s games plus a quick look at this year’s schools that would match up with District 14 for that first round (Bi-District) of playoff games.

                                 Go Hawks!

Canyon Lake was able to qualify for the playoffs with their win over Uvalde last week.

The Lake’s road will go through Davenport in two weeks where a win would or could result a top seed.

Right now, CLHS, is a 3rd seeded team due to that earlier loss to the Billies and being on the wrong end of the tie-breaker rule.

A win over Davenport would lead to a 3 way tie based on those top three teams (Hawks-Wolves-Billies) winning the rest of their games.

There is a break between these 3 schools with Somerset and Pleasanton fighting for that 4th place spot. The Bulldogs  and Eagles will play this week which will put that winner with a 4th seed.

District 13 will be a little clearer when the Taylor/Austin LBJ winner would produce a first seed. At this writing Travis and Eastsiide have the inside track for those final two spots.

If CL ends up being a 3rd seed then the loser of the top two schools (LBJ/Taylor) would pair up with The Lake.
