Canyon Lake took care of business in their win over Pleasanton with some help coming from Somerset who beat the Billies. That result helped jettison, The Lake, to a 2nd seed which comes with a home date this Friday against Austin Travis at 7:30pm.
That Freddie loss left this school with a 4th seed and a date against Top 5 Austin LBJ. Somerset will face Taylor Ducks who overcame Travis in a back and force battle.
The Hawks scored on 4 of 6 of their first half drives leading to a convincing conquest of these Eagles, 42-24. The damage came from Running Back James Garza who had 154 yards of real estate while scoring 3 touchdowns. Garza’s first run went to the house from 44 yards out.
After an Eagle field goal, CLake started on their 8 yard line after a set back of 15 yards after being flagged with a penalty. It took the Hawks 5 plays to score when Harris Gilliam combined for 22 yards via a catch and run that had Carter Williams doing the rest of the damage on his 70 yard reception and Lake lead, 21-3.
Williams would score one more time before half via a reception from QB Jace Wheeler. This touchdown went for 30 yards with no time left on the clock for halftime festivities and leading, 28-10.
