                           GO LAKE!

Canyon Lake had a good week last week with Volleyball sweeping their two contests and now has one foe left against an always tough La Vernia (26-8) at the Hawk Nest. These Bears have some impressive wins on their resume and have played and beaten several 5A & 6A schools.

One 4A school Davenport succumbed to this squad twice in a tournament and regular season.

The Lake had a rare 5 set win at Blanco before taking care of Randolph last Friday.

The Hawks will start district play next week with Freddie (Tuesday) and Long Creek (Friday)….these are two winnable games much needed by the Good Gals to get a needed jump in this tough district.

Standings Below:
District 26-4A
Wimberley 29 5 .853
Davenport 24 6 .800
Canyon Lake 16 10 .615
Fredericksburg 12 13 .480
Bandera 13 18 .419
Long Creek 6 16 .273

                       Let’s Go Lake!!!

Looking at these records and who each school played will show the top two being favorites with The Lake and Fredericksburg next in line with Bandera and Long Creek checking out the caboose.

Canyon Lake’s is two wins shy of their total last season and their absence in the post season should not give these Hawks a, we can handle these schools, attitude by not taking all the schools serious on the hard wood. That goes double for Bandera as this school has had the upper hand these past few years.  These Bulldogs have a, 7-3 record this decade against your Hawks.

Fall sports start getting interesting in a week when Hawk fans start going to their phones for district results.
