                Go Lake Beat Calallen!

First, a shout out to our Volleyball Squad who’s first priority this season was to make the playoffs which was accomplished in spades. CL Volleyball went 4 rounds into the post-season losing in a Regional Final which is one step from securing a Final 4 berth.

Congratulations and you can read about this season and what might be in store in The ReSporter’s Volleyball article on this site.

Curtain call for Football next with an Area Round battle this Friday at SW Legacy Stadium with kick-off 700pm. Calallen will be the next foe after disposing of Taylor in the Bi-District game last week.

Canyon Lake will be working on a chance of copying what Volleyball has just finished doing by going further than the 2nd round. The Lake has made it past this next round once back in 2017 for a team that won district and reached the next round.

The ReSporter will have an article for this week’s game while also showcasing records that have been attained this season and what might be in store.

You Make us Proud Hawks now Beat Calallen!

Girls Basketball finished this week with two losses as this year will certainly have a learning environment for a young team taking instructions from a new locally known coach Char Hutson.

This week will feature a home game with YMLA starting at 500pm with CLJV before the tip-off  Varsity following. Then a slew of contests in a 3 day tourney at San Antonio Cornerstone.

Boys Basketball starts their campaign this week on the road in Luling with sub-varsity tipping off at 500pm and then a late 800pm start for the Varsity.

The Boys will finish their week playing Sinton on Saturday with a noon start at the Hawk Nest.

Head Basketball Coach Monte Cole stated, “Starting the season on the road is never easy but kids are excited to get going and ready to play someone other than ourselves every day. I expect us to look pretty good defensively. Luling played zone last year so we’ll get an early look at our zone offense. Sinton is always good so that should be a good game at home Saturday. One thing we have this year is a lot of depth with all 11 guys (Eli Hammons will be 12 later in the year) playing and contributing.” (but that should be more weeks after The Lake beat Calallen)

Let’s Go Lake & Beat Calallen!
