       GO LAKE & Beat Floresville!

The Ranch found their Legacy at the bottom of THE LAKE after a 10-1 whitewash of these Wranglers.

Canyon Lake would score all the runs needed after starting this Bi-District contest scoring 5 first inning runs.. CL has scored 16 first inning runs since the Fredericksburg series and before that were in a drought of no runs during district play.

The Lake had 8 of 9 starters with a hit and the one player that was hitless, Cullen Barnhart and has the best average for CLHS this year. Barnhart was hitless but changed getting a hit to getting hit twice by Wrangler pitching and drew a walk.

            Way to GET HITS Lake!

That first frame had another batter magnet when Gram Simpson was hit by a round ball. Simpson is the all-time leader standing with 23 joining Barnhart in this hit parade.

Double-Mint Ryan Rena was next up rapping a double to left field driving CL’s first two runs followed by a   Hayes Holladay rbi single. This game was beginning to think the Wrangler pitcher did not like Hawks after when the third hit batter, this time Archer Miller that loaded the bases in that fashion loading the bases.

Then two consecutive singles for Gavyn Baldera and Lucas Shexnayder that drove in the last two runs for this  5 run advantage.

             Way to Go Lake Baseball.

Holladay was on the mound and started a little rusty hitting his first batter (a theme for this contest) who would was driven in by a double capping the only run scored for the home team.

That would turn-out to be the only damage these Ranchers could muster as their search for a Legacy was later found at the bottom of The Lake, 10-1.

Lucas Shexnayder led the team with three hits that had two doubles and Gavyn Baldera and Rena both tied with 3 rbis a piece. Rena had two doubles and is now 5th place with 18 two-baggers.

      1. Carter Williams 22

      3. Travis Walker 19
      3. Hunter Anderson 19
      5. Ryan Rena 18

Simpson continues his climb on the all-time lists for stolen bases standing with 26 career steals trailing Daniel Camarillo 29 from back during the 2011-12 seasons.

                   Let’s GO LAKE!

Canyon Lake’s District 26-4A all won their Bi-District outing last week and Floresville and The Lake have played three common opponents this year and are pretty even with those outcomes.

La Vernia was the only school that was out of each school’s district and both beat the Bears.

Canyon Lake will play Floresville Tigers (20-6-1) this Thursday and Friday with a Saturday game if needed.

The Texas High School Association and Walmart recognized the Academic All-State Teams.
