Lake Freshman still Unscathed in, 32-21 Win over Billies.

QB Coen Vanlandingham staves off a Billie but The Hawks took care of business in, 32-21 win.

                           Way to GO LAKE!

Canyon Lake’s Freshman faced that one team (Fredericksburg) that has held a lead on them and once again came away with a victory to keep their season without a loss, 32-21.

These Billies started in a hole as The Lake unleashed two one play drives courtesy of Isaac Torres for runs of 59 and 19 yards.

However, Freddie would stage a comeback this time by battling back with two scores and leading, 14-13 with 6:16 still left on the second quarter clock.

The Lake would quickly thwart the next Billie drive with an interception by Hunt Simpson and then the offense had a two play drive that was capped off with another 19 yard TD run for Torres.

Torres stands in line of having a chance for being the first with a 1,000 yard rushing season. Torres presently has 913 yards with two games remaining.

                                 Go Get’em Lake

The last Hawk that had a chance of reaching that marker was when James Garza got within 100 yards but his season was cut short with an injury in Burnet.

Torres has reached 100 yards or more in his last 6 games.

It will be Nash Cason next as he snagged a Vanlandingham pass for a 79 yard catch and run that would put this game back in the two score favor for Canyon Lake, 25-14 before halftime.

Cason has been a hot commodity in his last three games as he has also topped that 100 yard barrier and now has reached 425 yards this season.

                   Way to Go Lake!

His 79 yarder goes with 7 touchdowns thus far with two more contests to up those marks.

The second half started with a Hawk punt and then next set of downs was another Hawk interception this time for Raiden Williams and this would lead to a Hawk final score.

This drive ran time off the clock taking 9 plays before Vanlandingham found a wide open Red Sea and 14 yard run for a score, 32-14 lead with 5:50 remaining.

Freddie would score one more time with 4 seconds remaining but the dye had already been cast that now has this Freshman group with 2 games left for a chance of making Lake history.

   ‘Hawk’ Proud!

Next up will be Kerrville Tivy away from the Nest before a return home against Austin LBJ.

Fredericksburg has been the hardest hurdle of this year but it was depth that continues this undefeated venture with two hurdles remaining.

Go Lake and finish strong.
