Volleyball Coaches Corner with Nicole Creek
Canyon Lake Volleyball is fresh off losing to Devine on Tuesday night in a
four game match. 25-20, 25-27, 19-25, 18-25ReSporter: We thought this match with Devine would be a very winnable game, what happened?
Coach Creek: “It should of been a very winnable game, much like Llano was, but we are just making two many unforced errors in the game and we are taking to long to get started. We seem to always be playing catch up when we start the games four of five points down.”
ReSporter: Is there a difference in the ways this team plays at home versus at another venue?
Coach Creek: “I think this week was hard….being away and it was a long drive but that’s how our district is also. I definitely don’t think we come out with the same enthusiasm at away games.”
ReSporter: District starts with a mentally and physically tough Wimberley this Friday, what do the girls need to do to start 1-0 in district play?
Coach Creek: “We need to take care of or unforced errors and play a great offensive and defensive game.”
ReSporter: After the tough loss to Devine will you do anything different for the Wimberley game?
Coach Creek: “Just wipe the slate clean…Season starts over with district and the previous record doesn’t matter. What matters is what we do this point forward.”
ReSporter: How did the Freshman and Junior Varsity do against Devine?
Coach Creek: “Freshman and JV also lost. This felt like some of the worst games we have played in a while.”
ReSporter: Hopefully the Hawks have got all the bad games out of their system. Good Luck this Friday!
