Spring Break is officially over and now CL’s Baseball team will have to share the week with all the other spring sports.

Soccer will be having their last week of District 53-4A play as your Hawks will end this year with a home double header against Wimberley.

Canyon Lake Girls Soccer will be facing Wimberley in a contest that will seed each team for the Playoffs. The Hawks and Texans tied their game earlier this year and that will set up a winner facing a team a little lower finish in their district.

Softball will be starting their district play this week on the road in Fredericksburg. This will be an interesting year for CL’s Softball team as they have been on a roller-coaster ride during this non-district slate.

There is more bats that can produce this season and that will always be a lifesaver when this grueling season starts in earnest. Bandera will be visiting this Friday.

Speaking of Friday games, along with Soccer having their Wimberley double header, the Baseball team will also be playing Navarro at home after a game at always tough Boerne on Tuesday.

The Baseball Hawks go into this week with a 1-2 district record. Don’t forget that Baseball plays each district opponent three times and so this season is certainly young enough that a panic button is not needed at this point.

Golf will be on again this Wednesday but they have some injuries that will make for a time to have other players Tee it up and make up for losing some low scores.

Track season will be restarting their engine this Thursday in Wimberley. A short drive to watch a team that is still putting pieces together on where certain athletes will be performing when district comes calling.

Track starts at 3:30 each Thursday and CL will also host a Meet next week. So two weeks of watching one of the strongest sports on the Hawks campus will certainly be a treat.

Getting to a track meets is not a, ‘I missed the first hour therefore I missed the Meet’. sort of thinking.

Catching these athletes in any of their endeavors on Thursday will be a treat. Canyon Lake has several events that would be must watch.

Canyon Lake’s best times would of come in third place at the Smithson Valley Track Meet held a couple of weeks ago. Taking your Hawks best times and injecting them to those times at SV Meet will tell you how good a team this year’s squad has performed.

One more item to take from the above paragraph. Canyon Lake Boys would of beaten Smithson Valley and New Braunfels, scoring 114 points to SV’s 101 and NB’s 68. Impressive numbers when competing with 5-A schools.

Tennis will also get going in Wimberley on Friday and your Junior Varsity Baseball team will have the stage all to themselves on Monday evening when they host Bandera.
