CL has Tough night in Wimberley losing in Three Games, 22-25, 14-25, 16-25
Hawks Volleyball can’t get any momentum in loss to Texans last Tuesday night in Wimberley.
1999/2001/2002/2003/2006/2007 are years of banners in the Texan gym telling you of their past State Champions in the Sport of Volleyball.
This year Wimberley is ranked as high as 3rd in Texas and if you took one phase that Head Coach Kim Paisley wants from her team is consistency.
Consistency is what you see in every game with Wimberley and that is what will propel them in games against the Hawks and other district opponents.
Canyon Lake opened this contest when they had a 20-19 lead in the later stages of the first game.
Senior Amber Ramsey was a force in this game as she 8 kills and kept CL in the game with help from the other energetic Hawks.
The second tilt had Wimberley taking no prisoners as they took a 9-8 lead and ballooned it by outscoring Canyon Lake 16-6 to close out this affair.
The Hawks had a four point lead, 10-6 in the third contest when the consistent Texans put on a barrage to once again finish with a rush and outscoring CL, 19-10 for that final score of 25-16.
“Not enough heart,” Coach Paisley said. “We had a tough game two and we had the stats but no heart to carry out the games.”
Wimberley has a long legacy and Coach Paisley was one of those students back in the day that helped start that string of Championships.
Now, Canyon Lake, only needs to be patient and get some consistency and give Coach Paisley an opportunity to start another streak as a Coach.

Hawks JV also had a tough time of it as they also found themselves on the wrong end of the scoreboard with Wimberley JV, 14-25 and 19-25.
This Hawk team started this game looking good when they were within two points, 12-11 after rebounding with some catch up rallies, coming back from a four point deficit.
With the score 12-15, the Texans then ran off an 8 point service and closed out the Hawks by 11 points.
In that second match, CL started by giving Wimberley a 1-9 lead and then their best to return the favor as they fought back to a 12-15 deficit.
Wimbeley kept up the pressure increasing their lead back to 13-21 advantage.
An Addison five point serve, served notice that this game was not over and getting CL back to within the area of pulling off a game and sending Wimberley and CL to a rubber match.
That 19-21 score would be the Hawks last score and Wimberley closed out this game with a 19-25 game.
Once again, you can see that a consistent team in Wimberley and Canyon Lake could not get enough rally points to pull off a win over a very good opponent.
