Warriors Were Long WINded Over San Marcos Home School, 57-12

Bracken Christian was long winded in their game with San Marcos Home School as the Warrior’s scoring plays spanned many yards in this hard fought contest at Bracken Field.

San Marcos Home School (SMHS) had little known facts to help prepare for, “The only scouting we had on this game was a phone call,” Head Coach Lloyd Fields said.

We may have taken this team lightly,” Coach Fields said matter of fact. “It was very misleading that they were 0-8. This was the first time we had an emotional let down after the OLH game.”

Coach Fields was responding that SMHS had not faced one team with a losing record this season.

SMHS threw the first punch as this Home School team held the Warriors on their first possession and then drove 48 yards on 8 plays for the first score.

San Marcos was in a tight offense to start this game and used that game plan to draw first blood.

After San Marcos Home School’s first drive the BCS defense would hold the line for the remainder of this game.

Bracken Christian would communicate whenever possible on what was needed in order to stop this offense.

“We would talk during kick-offs and any other time we had a change of possession,” Fields talked in response to not having any film on scouting San Marcos.

Bracken had Preston Koch in more defensive plays in this game, “Our big surprise was Koch on defense in this game and the number of tackles he had and how he was controlling their offensive line…that is the type of game we will be needing come playoffs.”

BCS would respond with 33 straight points with most of those plays going a long distance.

The Warriors averaged 15 yards per play for this game telling how lethal and quick this offense was humming while Bracken’s defense held SMHS to six yards per play.

The dynamic dual of Noah Boriack and Jeff Camp was evident as their two receptions were for touchdowns from 45 and 34 yards.

Another incomplete pass just missed an open Camp for what would have been another long pass play.

Camp was also involved in a run that spanned 10 yards after a holding penalty. That penalty brought back a 55 yard run with Camp only getting credit for 10 yards for the spot foul.

Defensive back Daniel Forgione would also get into a long play aspect with a 50 yard interception return with so much weaving to start his runback that their were ladies wanting to know if Daniel could join their Basket Weaving Club.

Bracken would keep the pressure on with a two play drive where Boriack and Koch would have a carry each and Koch getting last carry honors for a 26 yard run down the sideline and score.

Fireworks were still around the corner as both teams would have touchdowns for long plays before the buzzard sounded for intermission.

After the second pass play for Boriack and Camp for 45 yards, SMHS would also respond with a 74 yard pass play for the equalizer.

Wait, before you get that bag of popcorn at halftime a nifty 79 yard kick-off return for Boriack would keep this game jumping and a 41-12 lead for Bracken Christian.

Four plays in the second half and 16 points would get this game to Mercy status as SMHS would throw another interception, this time with Davis Scott getting into the action with this snag.

Second play? John Colby runaway freight train 16 yard run for a score.

Third play? Another interception with Mason Anthony being the recipient and getting the ball down to SMHS three yard line.

Fourth play? Sophomore Tim Corey scoring his first touchdown as a Warrior and after a Koch bonus kick the game was over and not even one minute had elapsed in the second half.

Hopefully those fans going to the concession stand for popcorn could finish their treat in the car on their way home.

Now BCS prepares for the last district game at Warrior Field with SA The Winston and a date with a dance partner that is becoming a trend of playing two times each year against Sugar Land Logos Prep for a first game match-up.
