Hawk’s Tentative 2014 Football Season Released

With the storm of waiting for Re-Alignment comes lightning for coaches as they have to beHead Coach Charley Drum 100_1535 ahead of the game in putting their schedule together.

Many times a non-district game can become a district game based on what the UIL in moving schools to different locations and partners.

Head Coach Charlie Drum has been burning the midnight oil since Sunday as he waited for the curtain to fall and find out who his new friends will be.

“Our degree of difficulty did not change much,” Coach Drum said when assessing new and departing teams in District 14-AAAA. “We traded two playoff teams for two playoff teams so our district did not change much.”

Wimberley and Navarro was lost while Liberty Hill and Taylor were added from their district to the north.

“Liberty Hill and Taylor matched up similar to Navarro and Wimberley with having teams making the playoffs,” Drum continued. “The biggest difference is the longer distance of driving. It will be exciting to play some new folks.”

Canyon Lake will be in their second year running the Slot-T Offense and by watching this crew improving as the season progressed, then you might think that part of CL’s game might result in an improved record.

Many times during football season the experts will say that a team improves the most between the first and second games.

With that saying being the formula, then you might be able to say that the Hawk’s will be in a better state when the season starts this year based on this being their second year.

“I think so,” Coach Drum said. “Our team got familiar with it (offense) and they bought into the offense. We’re excited about this upcoming season.”

The 2014 Football Season below is tentative so there could be some changes based on appeals schools are submitting to the UIL which could change this schedule.
