Canyon Lake lost their fourth of five games when Wimberley took the lead in the second
inning with 6 runs and the Hawks could not find an answer in their 7-2 loss.
“We made a bad decision on a bunt play and coupled with an error, kind of hurt us,” Head Coach Trent Dunavant stated. “Wimberley had a couple of seeing eye balls that prolonged the inning and we could not generate any offense to off set the Texans as Shedrock threw pretty well.”
Wimberley’s ace Weeks was dominant in this contest striking out 16 Hawks which help limit the Texan’s defense by fielding less plays to go with the five errors.
Corey Shedrock only had one earned run as mistakes once again plagued Canyon Lake.
The Hawks have still not been scored on in the first inning, but with those one ‘bad’ innings ready to strike at any time will give any game a nervous feeling.
Canyon Lake will try to win the rubber match this Friday at the Hawk Diamond and turn the tide of the free falling Hawks.
