needing a win to stay alive to play more games.

A loss will lead to some scoreboard watching as a Fredericksburg win would put CL in fifth place and looking up to the other four teams that made the playoffs.

Can the Billies lose? Sure they can, but two things are going there way with that last game being against the worst team in district (record wise) and being able to play them at home.

If Fredericksburg would lose Friday’s game, then CL would be left outside looking in since they lost their series with the Billies giving them the nod for finishing in fourth place.

Now a Hawk win can also result in not making the playoffs. If Fredericksburg wins their game then there would be a 3-way tie for two spots and a coin flip and based on that flip many outcomes would be possible. (more on The Flip below)

This is all a result of their 5 game district losing streak that has hung around the Hawk necks like a millstone making flying a hard feat to do for a Hawk.

Canyon Lake will have Cody Powell on the mound this Friday for one of his biggest starts of his career.

The Hawks were at one time sitting in a tie for second place just three weeks ago and now have painted themselves in a corner in needing a win.

Fredericksburg can make the playoffs if the Hawks lose and take the fourth district spot by Navarro’s series win last week.

Recap:
How the Hawks Finish in 3rd Place:

How the Hawks Finish in 4th Place:

All based on three team round robin.

“The way it works is a coin flip for a bye,” Head Baseball Coach Trent Dunavant said like a mad scientist. “Other two teams play each other and the winner of that game plays the bye team.”

“If the bye team wins, they and the team they played are in, but if the bye loses, then they play loser of first game for last spot and the winner of the first game is in,” Coach Dunavant continued.

These game will most likely be played this Saturday.

Now, how the Hawks Finish outside looking in:

Losing games on Saturday would be all she wrote.

A Hawk loss to Navarro and a win by Fredericksburg would also give CL, being able to dream about what could of been.

Now you know what is needed and your support in Navarro of Friday night is needed as this is essentially a one game Playoff Season that starts early.

Fly High Hawks!!
