Wimberley has only played two games so far,  as last week lightening, was the culprit in halting their last contest.

The Texans enter this game with an 0-2 record but their offense improved ten fold in their loss to Giddings.

Canyon Lake will come into this game with a two game winning streak and a chance to beat Wimberley two games in a row to boot.

Winning on the road would be a huge feather in the Hawks dressing as well.

CL’s defense has been just as important in helping the past two game wins. Both games are in the top 10 for yardage yielded with Marion being the best game ever on that side of the ball holding those Bulldogs to less than 100 yards of offense.

Canyon Lake will hope to see their offense continue to be more in tune as it seems each back has had a banner game but not all of them in the same game.

That is a good sign as it gives you the idea that the Hawk offense will take whatever the defense will give

them and capitalize.

With all that being said, Wimberley is a different team than the last two opponents the Hawks have played and so seeing how this Hawk team will respond on the road against a Texan team that still owns a four game advantage will be fun to watch.

QB Colton Cerday will be calling snaps and he had a good game in his last outing throwing for 260 yards with three TDs.

The recipient to most of that yardage was Jack Shine who finished with 141 yards receiving on five catches.

West Lambert also came through with 51 yards while Brock McDorman was right behind accumulating 48 steps.

Rushing has not been established yet for Wimberley and this game will be won in the trenches for both teams.

If Canyon Lake can control that part of the game then The ReSporter could be taking a picture of the scoreboard after this game.

Can the Hawks get a good ground game going and with that bleed the clock? That would be a major variable in a winning formula.

This will be the first time these two schools will find themselves not playing in the same district but you can bet the emotions will still be sky high.

Wimberley will be wanting to take back their supremacy in this series while CL will want to show they are ready to take the next step in beating a team that has statewide recognition regardless of their record.

The drive is short and having a full stands will be a must.

Go HAWKS!!
