Running back Ramirez for Liberty Hill had two runs for 27 and 28 yards for touchdowns in that first half would help the Panthers claim their lead.

Mountain Valley did respond with their opening drive of the second half when they drove 50 yards on nine play drive.

The drive was highlighted with a run from Chase McCutchen for 27 yards that help the Hawks to finish off with a touchdown when Brandon Robinson ran the ball in from one yard out on a fourth down play.

This drive almost took the whole third quarter and with one defensive stop another chance for a score with a chance to tie the game.

Liberty Hill then took their next drive to paydirt and left Mountain Valley with only five minutes to score twice for a chance to win.

MV did show that they could move the ball, just penalties and three fumbles help stall a good chance to move the ball.

Those fumbles were not all lost to the opposition, it just happens to take a play away from an offense that was not churning out big chunks of yards to make up for losing a play to recover a fumble.

On the Hawk’s last drive an opening play holding penalty automatically took a chance for another score out the window.

McCutchen did show some resolve with 68 yards rushing for a player that was playing center earlier this year.

“This was my first game as a running back,” McCutchen said. “It was pretty cool having a chance to run the ball and cool running for the middle school team.”

On what he is wanting to do as this season matures, “I hope to get a score my third touchdown in the next game.”

McCutchen was talking about his previous games in year’s past when he had score two times.

“As a team we want to win the rest of our games and improve on our blocking,” McCutchen closed.

Mountain Valley had a much better game on this day and have a chance to improve on this and other games that will be coming up.
