Canyon Lake’s running game was in sync as the Hawks averaged, 10.3 yards per play with another explosive night of fireworks.
“I am proud of the kids,” Head Coach Charlie Drum started. “We knew we would be able to move the ball and the (Lee) Stafford interception helped in getting us going.”
“This was a track meet and we are starting to get healthy,” Coach Drum said while commenting on all of the players that have missed games this year. “We had been in the fire and when we were down we were able to respond.”

Defensiva Linebacker Adrian Duque and Running Back/Offensive/Defensive Lineman Helijah Johnson after win over Burnet
Mountain Valley’s 7A team failed to score in just two of their possessions as Burnet ran for cover when the Hawks swooped down on the Bullpups, 28-8.
MV held Burnet to a paltry 2 yards per play as the Hawks dominated both sides of the line in having their way in this contest.
There was just one explosive play by Burnet Middle School when Moses Solis found an open lane to the end-zone after catching a pass for the only score for the visitors.
Mountain Valley 7th Grade continues their winning ways as the A & B team both ran over the Burnet Bullpups on Thursday at the Hawk Field.
MV B squad was first up by playing a defense that would have Burnet with only 2 plays that went for positive yardage. Two 2 yard runs was the totality of the damage these Pups would inflict on the Hawks.

Canyon Lake’ s Volleyball team were taken to the wood-shed in last night’s loss to Fredericksburg, losing 3-0.
The battle was with two unbeaten District 28-4A schools as the Billies will now be in position to hold down the 1st Place lane as the second round will commence next week.
Greene, Bates and Ramey implore the Hawk Nation for their attendance on Thursdays as this week the 7th Grade teams will be playing Burnet at home while the 8th Grade go on the road for their battle.
The 7th Grade Games will be reported on tomorrow on the Hilltop ReSporter.
Go Hawks!!
