Canyon Lake Broadcasting’s Future
The idea was a simple one as we started thinking through the next phase of having the students at Canyon Lake highlighted in a market that leaves CL in the dark for the most part.
Yes, the New Braunfels’ paper covers the Hawks but for obvious reasons this paper has many other schools that are much larger that demands their attention.
Hence, The ReSporter and now Canyon Lake Broadcasting (CBL) is in their first year of working football games for the Hawk Nation.

Bracken Christian Kicked the Winston Eagles, 54-52
The Warriors had a battle Friday night as their defense gave up over 500 yards and still pulled off a win in dramatic fashion.
Well, dramatic fashion if you are a fan of a player kicking a football. For the newbies out there, in 6-Man football the point after is worth 2 points and Bracken made that part of their game pay off with this 2-point win.
Paul Nakalanga missed just one bonus kick out of 7 tries and that added up to 12 points and allowed The Winston to have more touchdowns and still losing the game.

Canyon Lake gets signature win over Boerne on Homecoming night winning, 41-38.
If the Hawks can look to a game that will help define this season then Boerne will be that answer as the Greyhounds had been ranked as high 17th in one poll and now with this Hawk victory, CL holds an inside track for a better than 4th place seed in this district race.
That is important as the first round games for the playoffs will have District 14-4A paired up with District 13-4A schools. Which have had as many as three teams in the top 10 this season.
CL last win over a team with a winning record at the end of the season came in their playoff game with Pleasanton 3 years ago and now the Hawks have won a conquest that they will be able to hang their Hat on.

The ReSporter: How is the team health wise as you enter the Boerne game?

Canyon Lake’s Coach Charley Drum
Coach Drum: “We are in good shape, just the usual bumps and bruises that come after 7 straight games.”
The ReSporter: Luck might not be a good word for this, but you have 3 games left and now have an off week between some games, knowing that most teams off date is in the middle of the schedule. Do you think this year’s bye week might help in how this team can finish better in district play?
Coach Drum: “We will learn a lot after this weeks game with Boerne, I expect a very intense and physical game. As we do the next week at Fredricksburg, so an off week before we finish up with Taylor may be ideal.” Read the rest here »
