CL Lake Hawks come down with ‘Fumbleitis’ in loss to Taylor on Saturday afternoon, 31-28.

Senior Matt Adams is not finished yet.

Senior Matt Adams is not finished yet.

“Defensively we did real well,” Head Coach Charley Drum started. “We have had problems this year (with fumbles) and I hated this for our seniors.”

Coach Drum continued, “They took care of the ball and we gave a talented team field position all game with our fumbles.”

The Hawks could not stand prosperity as they went bankrupt in giveaways by coughing up 5 lost fumbles in this winnable contest.

Taylor jumped out to a quick 9 point lead before Canyon Lake responded with 4 consecutive touchdown drives and what many thought was a comfortable halftime lead, 28-9.

The ReSporter: What are your thoughts as you have just completed this season from the regular season games and then your district games?

Coach Pailsey: “I’m excited, happy, and very proud of the girls, from Freshmen, JV, to Varsity! All of the girls worked hard and continue to work hard!!! This has been an incredible season and a season full of more goals accomplished and history in the making!”

The ReSporter: What is your focus as you look at the upcoming playoff season?

Coach Paisley: “We will keep our schedule and plan consistent and routine as possible, while still being flexible to the quick turn around that occurs throughout the playoffs. The girls are focused and we still have goals to obtain. We are hitting it hard on defense and  sharpening our offense. We will be ready to compete and I know the girls will give 110% each match!” Read the rest here »

CL Freshman Want More in Win over Taylor, 41-14

CL Hawks having one more talk before this night is through in win over Taylor, 41-14

Hawks having one more talk before this night is through in win over Ducks, 41-14

Canyon Lake Freshman remain undefeated after calling the Ducks out for one more hunt, winning 41-14.

“There is not enough balls to go around,” Head Freshman Coach Bill Greene said when responding to the depth of this team’s running backs. “We want to get this group of players to do anything they can to succeed and stay away from losing.”

This group of players have not been on the losing ledger for a while now and Coach Greene certainly has a chance of finishing the year with a team that would not have to remember what a bad taste you can get with a loss.

The Hawks had a good season as they are one more game away from doing a fete not yet accomplished for the Canyon Lake community in finishing this season by continuing their untouchable persona.

CL had their Junior Varsity finish undefeated back during the 2010 season which has been that one campaign where that team took care of their whole slate of games.
