Tuesday night at Hawk Field.
“No. 1, you never give up or quit believing that we could win,” Head Coach John Gallagher said. “This will motivate you to have inspired practices this week to help ride this into our Wimberley game.”
Coach Gallagher continued, “For all the errors and mental mistakes we had, we battled to take it to them.”
Into the night, was what the crowd saw with amazement as this home run was by far the longest hit ball in Hawk history.

Many of the running finals will be staged on Thursday while Field Events will be finished on Wednesday.
Canyon Lake has many athletes that will need as many fans to yell them on as they pursue their quest for making the Region Meet.
Golf will also be finishing up with their district tournament on Monday and Tuesday for a chance of continuing on with some good scores.
The Hawk Golf club has finished high in each tournament and in this sport anything can change on any hole. Our golf team will have a good chance of making some noise this year.

Canyon Lake will have some athletes that bares watching this week.
Christian Dittman will be performing the Pole Vault and he has all the Hawk records and looks for an opportunity to take his act further this season.
Last year the district track teams voted to take the top two athletes which did away with a meet in the area that would have had a chance of weeding out times and distances for the Region Meet.

slumps that are in your line-up? Is it based on years of experience on whether you move the player up or down? How much does speed play a percentage of what you would do?
Coach Gallagher: “Slumps happen to everyone. You just hope its not more than one player at a time and that it is only for a short period of time.
Moving the batting order depends on how a player responds in given situations such as not hitting when runners are on base or moving speed up or down based on who’s hitting behind them.

Canyon Lake only had one inning that was not good, but that is all it took for

Y4 Custom Homes Supports Canyon Lake Softball
Fredericksburg to take control of the final in a disappointing loss, 8-5 last Friday.
The Hawks was in control with a 4 run lead going into the fifth inning and that was when the proverbial dam broke and the Billies responded with 7 of their 11 hits in the game pulling a way with a 7-4 lead.
Of those 7 hits, 4 were doubles and Canyon Lake would not be able to rally for a win for this early start, where the Varsity was playing before the usual JV game.
CL had been shut out a day earlier and right off the bat (pardon the pun), Carly DuBois had a first pitch single that bounced over the pitchers head into centerfield.

The date was April 23, 2010 when Canyon Lake last had a game stopped in district play based

Corey Shedrock smiling after going 3 for 3 from the plate
on the mercy rule which goes into effect if a team has a 10 run lead or more by the 5th inning.
Ingram Moore was in town and left early after CL finished the game, 12-2 behind the pitching of Cody Breest after an 11 strikeout evening.
This year’s edition had mercy on the Bulldogs after the 5th inning and a 16-3 win.
Daulton Winters (from 2010 game) had two runs on one hit and a walk….wait….wait…cousin, Garrett Winters was back at the lead off position in the line-up and had two hits and three runs.
Almost four years later, as CL would also unleash one of their top offensive games in their history to boot.
A five run and eight run first two innings was all it took when Nick Cahill swatted a ball over the left field fence for a grand slam in that first inning spelling doom or what would soon become a mercy game.
