CL Hawks Start Football Season, 1st Scrimmage in 11 Days
Canyon Lake began their 15th year of varsity football this week with hopes of securing their 2nd district championship since the 2017 season.

Chase Anderson, Griffen Williams, and Hunter Anderson were joined by 6 other Hawks that made 200th place or better in the State of Texas in 10 categories this past season out of 1652 players in class 4A.

Canyon Lake Hawks’ Players were mentioned 32 Times with the Earned Run Average category with the most which included CL’s whole pitching staff being mentioned. Hits included 4 Hawks was next up after another dominating season.
The Lake had 9 players reach the Top 200 at least once with Griffen Williams leading the pack totaling 9 times.
Marco Polo is a popular game for those who invade swimming pools during Summer months. A game that will not have any relation to the actual Marco Polo 13th-century Italian trader and explorer. But there is an explanation that is said to have a connection to this water game.

Today, we will be going over the Top 10 Track Athletes that if you took their event place 1-6 and scored it like a track meet who would amass the most points. If a Hawk finished 7th thru 10th then they would not receive points.

Canyon Lake has had several Freshman grades in the past that have posted some good results when starting their first year in high school. Some of those classes were back in 2012 when those ladies helped Volleyball-Basketball-Softball with Alexis Robinson having the biggest impact replacing one of the best softball players, pitcher Missy Romero.

Canyon Lake’s Football team will look to grow full beards during this upcoming year after another humbling 6-5 season that had way too many, ‘don’t shave that close’ encounters.

Another record breaking year for CL’s Baseball team with a plethora of bats and pitching that helped in getting to the 2nd round of the post-season.
This year’s Hawk Softball team was a totally different squad the previous year and that newness and improvement can be seen in the All-Time and Season Stats below.

Canyon Lake could not get over the hump after a Needville 3 run 5th inning and bowed out of this year’s Post-Season after a, 4-2 loss.

Alencia Lentz had no trouble clearing her first height at the Texas State Meet!!
Canyon Lake’s Alencia Lentz came home with a Gold Medal after setting a State Meet Record vaulting, 13-06 at The University of Texas Myers Stadium.
The Lake had their most athletes to qualify for this ultimate Track Meet and will look to add to this total for these upcoming years.
