CASA gets Exterminated, BCS Wins, 74-6
Sunday, October 16th, 2011CASA got infested with Warriors as Bracken Christian crushed the Rams, 74-6 in a blowout Homecoming win, last Friday at Warrior Stadium.
This was the second game in as many years that Bracken could of called a game after the first quarter, as they scored over 45 points. The 58 point quarter was 12 points more when BCS had when they beat SA Lutheran last year.
Unfortunately for CASA the game went another quarter, but Bracken took it easy on their visitors from San Antonio. The Warriors finished taking a knee on the doorstep of CASA’s one yard line.
CASA had one of 33 plays that something good happened and their only score. The 70 yard pass play allowed the Rams to finish with positive yardage for the game with 51 total yards.

Wimberley is Good!! They Win, 50-14 over Canyon Lake
Friday, October 14th, 2011Canyon Lake took it’s first loss of the year as Wimberley Texans brought their ‘A’
game to the Hawks and lapped the home team in grand fashion, 50-14 in a meeting between two undefeated District 26-3A foes.
“We’re not there yet,” Head Coach Matt Monzingo said. “This team (Wimberley) is strong, big and very balanced.”
“When they stopped Zach (Henshaw), we weren’t as tough as we needed to be,” Coach Monzingo reflected.
Wimberley seemed like they were in the Hawk’s huddle as they had four defensive backs ready when the Hawks tried a play that worked earlier this year against Luling. The first play action pass that scored on Luling was an interception against Wimberley.

Hawk Freshman Run out of Ink, Lose 6-0 to Texans
Friday, October 14th, 2011Canyon Lake could not get back on track in the second half as Wimberley Freshman only needed one score winning, 6-0 at Hawk Stadium.
You know how it is when you sit down to write a composition or essay and once the juices start flowing the Pen you are using runs out of ink.
That was the dilemma for the Hawks as the game progressed the offense just ran out of ink and the paper could not be finished.
The unfortunate thing about the game Thursday night is that the game did not finish at halftime. If that would of been possible, then the Hawks would of won on penetrations.

Coaches Corner: Bracken’s Lloyd Fields
Thursday, October 13th, 2011“Each game gets more important,” Head Coach Lloyd Fields
admonished. “This will be a very difficult team to prepare for, because they do so much stuff.”Stuff, is the operative word for different formations and giving defensive minded coaches enough headaches that their vocabulary incorporates the words like, ‘stuff’.
CASA will be the second team with a three game winning streak coming into the game with the Warriors in a row.
The Rams started the season slow, but have picked up steam recently by surprising several soothsayers with their victory over SA Winston last Friday.
CASA beat their cross town rivals 45-39 which raised several eyebrows the next morning as people were going over the previous evening scores.
“This will be the quickest team we have played since Hill Country,” Coach Fields said.

Coaches Corner: Canyon Lake’s Matt Monzingo
Wednesday, October 12th, 2011“This will be an easy game to fire them (football team) up,” Head
Coach Matt Monzingo started.Times are different from this time last season. The Hawks had just lost a brutal game to Navarro and had a 2-4 record. Consistency was a word that had not been used many times up to that point.
Talking to Coach Monzingo this season has not been a chore, as the Hawks have not had the ‘bad taste in your mouth’ type of games up to this point.
“The kids listen,” Coach Monzingo continued. “When we (Coaches) ask them to improve or work on certain areas, then they have responded each time.”
