Monday, October 10th, 2011BCS Beats Lutheran with a Waltz in the Park, 68-6
Sunday, October 9th, 2011Bracken Christian Warriors continue their waltz through District play as they pounded the Mustangs, 68-6 Friday night at Warrior Stadium.
The Warriors scored on every possession except for the one interception in the game as BCS worked up over 300 yards of total offense while holding the Mustangs to 90.
The waltz theme was introduce by the number of plays it took the Warriors to score, each time they had the ball.

Hawks Electrify the Panthers, 41-26

RB Eduardo Covarrubias paving the way for Zach Henshaw
Canyon Lake Hawks brought their own Breaker System to Navarro and lit up the Panthers for a 41-26 hard fought victory.
The Hawks had 29 points last season in the fourth quarter for all of their games. In this contest alone, Canyon Lake finished with 20 and now have garnered 62 points, doubling last year’s total.
“It feels good to win a game for a team that is hard to prepare for,” Head Coach Matt Monzingo said. “We had ball control too in the second half and moved the chains.”
Finish is the ‘mantra’ for this year’s club and the conditioning and focus has once again catapulted the undefeated Hawks to 6-0 and waiting for Wimberley next week.
Canyon Lake keeps raising the bar and has a realistic chance of reaching the .500 mark (all time) with a win against the Texans. (20 wins and 20 losses)

Freshman Hawks Stifle Panther Offense, 21-8
Friday, October 7th, 2011GERONIMO, Texas – “2 and 0” were the cries being heard from Panther Stadium Thursday night as the Canyon Lake Freshmen Hawks improved to 2-0 in district play and 3-3 on the season after beating the Navarro Panthers 21-8.
From the opening kick the Hawks made play after play on defense to stymie the normally methodical yet effective Panther offense as Navarro was only able to rack up 95 yards of total offense in the game.
“We read our keys and did what we talked about in practice for the past two weeks,” coach Luke Chapman said after the game. “Credit to the kids for taking coaching and executing on the field. We did a great job of being physical and each man doing his job.”

Canyon Lake JV gets Run over, 32-13
Thursday, October 6th, 2011Canyon Lake could never get control of the line of scrimmage in loss to Navarro
Panthers at Hawk Field Thursday night, 32-13.
Navarro did one thing well, and that was run the ball.
The old adage of run the same play until the other team can stop it was alive and well at Hawk Stadium. The Panthers averaged over nine yards per carry while the Hawks tried to find the ball.
Oh yeah, the Panthers did something else very well and that was hiding the ball from the Hawk defense. By the time CL figured which running back was running, it was too late to stop the positive yardage. (more…)
CLHS Coaches Corner: Matt Monzingo
Wednesday, October 5th, 2011It has been a year since the ‘Running’ of the (Bulls) Panthers at Canyon Lake field. The result was over 80 plays run by the visitors from Navarro.
The Time Of Possession (TOP) was not a stat that was kept for the game, but conventional wisdom would tell you that Navarro controlled the clock to the extent that the Panthers were walking off the field with Big Bend on their back and enjoying every stride.

Bracken’s Coaches Corner: Lloyd Fields
Wednesday, October 5th, 2011Bracken Christian will have a 99.9% chance of winning their game against the San Antonio Lutheran Mustangs this Friday night.
The Mustangs are not a football juggernaut and have presently won three games in a row. Don’t let those numbers fool you however…there is a chasm as large as the Grand Canyon between five to six teams and the rest of Division 1 TAPPS schools.

Bracken Christian: Midterm Grades are in for Football
Thursday, September 29th, 2011The grades are in for the Bracken Christian Warriors for the first half of the season. It should not be much of a surprise…A+
The Warriors have had four mercy games out of the first five games of the season. Which should give you a good idea for the high grade.
Bracken cleared the first hurdle when the Warriors beat Austin Hill Country, 68-48 on the first game of the season.
The team is averaging right at 62 points a game while giving up 15 for the first five games.
Historically BCS is averaging the most points ever at this point of the season. Last season Bracken averaged over 55 points a game based on the same number of games.
