Monday, October 24th, 2011BCS Wins Statement Game, Beat Winston, 54-0
Saturday, October 22nd, 2011Bracken Christian made a big statement game on Friday night as they beat SA The Winston, 54-0 for the seventh ‘mercy’ game in a row this season at Warrior Stadium.
BCS held the leading rusher in the Nation to 64 yards on 15 carries. The Winston’s Wilkerson had over 400 yards rushing last week and only approached that number as he was walking back to his bus for the ride home.
“We thought we could slow him (RB Wilkerson) down,” Head Coach Lloyd Fields said defensively. “We shut him down instead.”
Defense wins Championships and the Warriors proved on this night that they might have a better defense than the Championship season last year.
The Warriors gave up 48 points in their first game of the season and now have given up 38 points in their last seven games total.

Hawks Get Run Over by a Greyhound, 35-14
Saturday, October 22nd, 2011Canyon Lake Hawks go back to the drawing board as Boerne turns mistakes into touchdowns, as CL loses second consecutive game this season at Boerne stadium, 35-14.
What started as a nice looking game, suddenly changed in the second half to a Greyhound beating.
The Hawks started the game with another patented drive, as CL drove 80 yards on 11 plays and took the early lead, 7-0 after the Jake Robinson point after attempt.
The drive had a lot of Zach Henshaw, as the Senior running back accounted for 73 of the 80 yards for the first score. Henshaw had 53 yards rushing and 20 yards receiving on the drive.
Canyon Lake had two third down plays and both were within three yards for a first down or touchdown.

Hawks Freshman Use “Ground & Pound”
Friday, October 21st, 2011BOERNE, Texas –The Canyon Lake Freshmen Hawks took a cue from the New York Jets and used their own version of “pound and ground” to rough up the Boerne Greyhounds 26-7 Thursday night to even their season record at 4-4 and 3-1 in district play.
From the first kick and even walking off the bus the Hawks used a physical, suffocating defense and a powerful, efficient run game to win in Boerne for the second time this season.
“We knew we were going to beat them when we walked off the bus,” defensive lineman Dallas Sandau said. “But at the same time we knew they were going to come at us pretty hard because they wanted revenge, so we had to be ready to go.”
The Hawks were indeed ready to go and used their “pound” first on the defensive side of the ball to hold the Greyhounds to 60 total yards and three 1st downs in the first half.

Canyon Lake scored on their second drive of the game by going 78 yards on 11 plays to take the lead, 7-6 over Boerne.
The drive was highlighted with a 17 yard pass to Michael Sheffeild and finished with a nifty 20 yard run from Quarterback Connor Ricker.
