What a difference a week made for CL’s Gold squad after playing an JV team last week vs. going against a more adaptable age group on Thursday. This Hawk Gold team was Golden in scoring in each quarter for a, 28-6 win over Weiss Maroon.

The Hawks Tennis Team was taken down by a well rounded Wimberley Texans group after Canyon Lake was only able to get one win with their Mixed Double team of Rico Griffin and Stormie Dawkins.

Canyon Lake Volleyball welcomed Blanco into the Hawk Nest and sent the Panthers home on the short end of the stick after a, 3-1 Win, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.
Seniors Rico Griffin and Stormie Dawkins will lead the Hawks this Fall Tennis Season.

Last week Canyon Lake beat La Vernia 15 matches to 4. Which included 6 singles matches for boys and girls…3 doubles matches each for boys and girls and a mix doubles match…that was a total of 19 matches.
This Saturday, Canyon Lake went up 2-0 for their season after beating Burnet, 6 matches to 3 against the Bulldogs. Protecting the Hawk Nest and playing in a much cooler time with this battle starting at 9:00am.
Canyon Lake has upped their Sports repertoire with a good group of players that will look for improvement this year and more wins.

Last year, Dawkins was The Lake’s top performing player overall. Dawkins won a lot in mix doubles and also her share of singles matches. McAuliffe was Dawkins partner last year, but this year, McAuliffe will focus on singles and boys doubles. Griffin and Dawkins played in several spring tourneys last year and made it to the finals in 2 tournaments. Dawkins made it to the finals in 1 tournament in singles last spring. Lara/Baker dual made the finals in 1 tournament last year and made semis twice in boys

During the 2018 season, the Hawks had 15 kids playing, this year, those numbers have soared with 27 students coming out which will justify a full varsity team and almost a full JV team. Canyon Lake will have a few players playing on both JV and Varsity different weeks so to help in not having to have forfeit matches.
Coach Mickey will have a big group of freshman and several freshman who made the varsity squad…Kylie Rust, Hayley Jackson, Colby Jackson, Cecilia Lalonde and. Avery Golden
Captains this year will be Stormie Dawkins, Rico Griffin (both seniors)
Returning varsity has Haley Gallagher who will play both doubles and singles as CL’s. Gallagher is one of the harder workers and is a great teammate.
Gabriel Lara and Colin Baker adds to Hawk tennis depth.
Matt Anderson and Zachary Elson are baseball guys who are playing fall tennis and will contribute in playing doubles.
Canyon Lake has a lot of beginning tennis players, so this year’s goals will be to grow this program, improve skills, and compete every time out.
Other returning varsity player not mentioned…Thomas Liggett who will play doubles or singles in CL’s #6 spot.
Junior Varsity will include Tanner Adams, Cooper Blackburn, Travis Parma, Frasier McNew, Mason Bolin, Mattison Kitzel, Bekah Tucker, Gwen Mccutchen, CJ Mccormick, Isabella Smith.

CL Hawks Freshman Start Career’s with a Win over MFalls, 52-6
The Hawk Freshman brought their A Game to Canyon Lake’s High School Arena with a capsizing, 52-6 victory over the hapless Marble Falls Freshman.
