Canyon Lake’s Track & Field Team got into action against some tough competition to open their season with an added detriment of a howling wind and cold temperatures.
Landry Brown will be the lone Hawk survivor for Track & Field’s State Meet to be held this upcoming weekend. High Jump will be her event and that is ironically the only event that CLHS has a State Champion.
These last two years have been a tough road for Track & Field as the season was cut short last year and then this season had the Snow Storm of a Lifetime wrecking several scheduled Meets.
Mountain Valley Middle School Hawks 7th Grade Boys won their recent Quad Track Meet at the Hawk Nest scoring 216 points. Lady Hawks finish 3rd scoring 132 points with Aubrey Avey leading the Ladies scoring 26 points in four events.
Track & Field has had more Pole Vault Bars to maneuver instead of a much lower hurdle as this season has not had a smooth beginning.

Of all of last year’s sports that was cancelled, Track & Field had to feel the most pain as there Seniors who were poised for a chance to finish their career in Austin.
The ReSporter will continue an introduction for a plethora of spring sports that will start when February comes calling in two weeks.
The Wuhan Virus hit last Spring and did so much damage to our schools and sports with those Seniors becoming those hardest hit.
