                        Way to GO LAKE!!

It was a successful Homecoming as Canyon Lake rebelled against the Travis Rebels in a, 55-7 runaway.

Austin Travis did start this contest with some weapons after two first downs before a fumble….but it was their second possession that went 73 yards at a high rate of speed that closed the Hawk lead to one point early, 8-7.

The Lake would sandwich the first half with two good drives at beginning and end of those two quarters….but that middle of this contest had some special teams with some added defensive help that produced two more scores.

Starting the 2nd Quarter it was Carson Walker with a 70 yard punt return that was followed with CL’s defense forcing another punt which had a Kobe Halverson block and pick-up for his 10 yard return to pay-dirt.

                  Way to Go Lake!

Two Travis offensive plays later had Walker snagging an interception and then Walker finishing what he started with a 2 yard run.

That was 3 scores taking four minutes producing a, 28 point advantage.

Canyon Lake would score two more times when Thomas Inmon caught a 35 yard strike from QB Jace Wheeler then Aiden Boals scored at the one-minute mark…The Lake had a, 48-7 lead.

This win now has Canyon Lake with a clear path for their 3rd play-off year in a row.

Kerrville’s 4 point win over Taylor raised some eye-brows as Tivy is tied with Fredericksburg at the top of the rankings.

The Hawks will be on the road in Austin at North-East….a team that has struggled this season and still looking for their first district win.

Fredericksburg will be CL’s next home game on October, 23rd which will have a Billies team sporting one loss to Wimberley and having a strong defense thus far.

Keep Filling The Lake, Hawks!
