The Hawks scored 4 runs to start their district outing against the 5th Ranked (according to Texas High School Baseball) Davenport Wolves and finished off their Comal Brethren, 9-2 as CLHS improved their District 27-4A record to 2-0.
Head Coach Victor Escamilla was a river boat gambler in Hawk’s, 4-3 win over Fredericksburg to start district play.
Below are Softball & Baseball Standings as the Boys will squeeze in one district game before district teams have their final tournaments this weekend. Then district will start with each team playing each district opponent. After that first round then district will have those 2 game series each week to finish this season.
CL Hawks opened the Legacy Tourney giving up 2 runs and 9 hits in 14 innings and a shared 3 pitcher shut-out over Highlands, 6-0.
The Lake’s Softball team finished first in this past week’s Blanco Tournament undefeated with the only blemish a tie against Blanco in a contest that had some starters not present which certainly would have changed that outcome.
Canyon Lake Softball had a solid game beating the Luling Eagles, 8-3 behind a 13 strikeout stint for Gabby Barnes who also contributed some power with a 2-run homer and double.
Canyon Lake’s Track Teams hosted the Hawk Relays this past Thursday and the Ladies finished 3rd overall against another week of strong programs.
