This past week revealed more about this year’s district make-up with the new kid on the block, Davenport, finishing the week with just one loss winning 4 battles. That is compared to starting the year with an 0-5 mark.
Davenport is a much better March team than a February opponent as this is their maiden voyage with the Varsity competition.
This week will have the Wolves sharing their tournament with Canyon Lake as each school is hosting 3 schools with double headers on Thursday and one game on Friday with a seeded game on Saturday.
Wimberley tied the Wolves by recording a 4-1 record. Their tournament contests did not have a great slate of competition and the Texans will be hosting a tourney this week with a chance to step up their competition.
Your Hawks had the next best weekly returns after winning 4 games with 2 losses. Those losses happened against two private schools while the marquee game for CL had to be that Tuesday win over 6A Copperas Cove.
The Hawks will have a game with East Central who tied the Boerne Greyhounds last week. This should shed some light on how these two schools might match up when district starts up in a couple of weeks.
Freddie finished with more wins than losses this past week and will be in Wimberley’s tourney as those results will show which of those two schools might have an advantage later this season.
Bandera has not been a good team thus far as their has been just one school that had not scored 10 or more runs against these Bulldogs. Those two games did reach 9 runs for their opponent and that is still showing some weaknesses for this team.
It will be a long year for these Bulldogs as it is shaping up that 5 schools will be battling it out for those 4 playoff spots.
The ReSporter will be updating the scores on this article as the week proceeds and Go Hawks!!
