Gold Volleyball’s Lake Rides the Wake in Win over Freddie, 25-20 ~ 25-14

In this Freddie and Hawk Gold game it was a slow start for The Lake got down 4 points, 6-10 & 7-11 and then Khloe Petty served a 3 point rally that was highlighted by her Ace a Rylee McCollum and Nedra Edwards kills. That rally closed the gap but both teams were still knotted up with 15 points a piece.

Then a wake-up call happened when Kyra Menchaca helped with her 4 point serve that had two aces as well as a kill coming from outside hitter Leighton Hill.

This rally allowed the separation needed for their eventual, 25-20 score.

That momentum that started with a first set, 15-15 tie led to CLJV scoring, 40 points while leaving these Billies on the hill 19 points scored during that same stretched.

In fact, it was a 9 point serve for Edwards that culminated with a tired Freddie team multiple unforced errors and some Hawk’s aces and three kills for McCollum.

Canyon Lake’s sub-varsity continued to ride a high wake on The Lake with both teams with over .500 records which has been a rarity for a long time.

Gold sports a, 8-6 record while CL’s Green team rests with an impressive, 11-4 slate.

In this win the Hawks Gold had six different players registering a kill and serving an ace.
