Taking a look at the first two games of the season can give an idea of how each district school might do during their campaign.
Fredericksburg’s win over Kerrville Tivy showed that this team has a laser focus on district after just missing a spot last year. Now with two wins adding a convincing outcome over Sam Houston earlier.
Austin LBJ was picked by Texas Football Magazine as the frontrunner for a district crown and have matched the Billies with two wins over Manor and Dallas Parish Episcopal.
The Jaguars biggest take away after two games has been taking away 11 turnovers and with a one possession win over Parish Episcopal that was a fumble in the end zone that was returned for a touchdown. That was the difference last season in CL’s loss to LBJ and that type of defense will make this Jaguar team a tough out.
Lampasas has shown they have an offense that is churning out yards in bunches. A heartbreaking loss to Brownwood and then discarding Elgin a team The Lake faced in their last scrimmage.
Another offensive display on offense in a game this week against Wimberley can give a good indication how CL stacks up against the Badgers after comparing those results.
Taylor stopped their long losing streak in a win over Robinson to start their season but could not make it two wins in a row after coming up short in their game with Rockdale.
Rockdale was the school that La Grange beat in their first game and this might give an idea of how the Hawks might match up when they play Taylor later this season.
Burnet is the only team that has yet to leave a battle with a smile on their face after losing to Marble Falls, 41-9. This Bulldog team has faced two good teams to start their season with another tough Boerne team next up this week..
Rouse was the Bulldogs first opponent and that loss came from the passing game giving up 345 yards through the air. MFalls did their damage running for 325 yards. This might be a long year for Burnet.
Go Hawks!!
