A Lake Tsunami Win over Billies, 50-32

Kobe Halverson 51 yard strike from Jace Wheeler in Hawk win, 50-32. Go Lake!

                       Way to Go Lake!

The Lake drenched Fredericksburg thanks to a 581 yard night that left these visitors playing catch-up for the duration of this important battle.

This year, this Billies’ team, has had a stout defense and coming into this contest the most rushing yardage given up was 148 yards to Bandera and 250 yards passing for Davenport.

The most total yardage on offense an opponent had produced against Freddie’s was 374 yards while the Billies averaged allowing 182 yards per game.

In this district battle, The Lake had 581 yards of offense and scored 50 points for a team that defense had averaged 15.1 points per game.

This was a Lake Tsunami win for a Hawk team that scored in every quarter keeping a relentless challenge for an opponent who had not seen an onslaught of yards like this all season.

              Keep the Water Running Lake!

Fredericksburg won the toss and opted to take the ball which worked well as the Billies took 10 plays going 77 yards. Freddie had to convert two 3rd downs and a 4th down for that touchdown.

The Lake responded traveling 76 yards on 7 plays that had three plays over 15 yards. A 37 yard strike for QB Jace Wheeler to Thomas Inmon, a 15 yard up the middle run for RB Aiden Boals and then a 29 yard pass to Peyton King that tied the score.

The Billies continued with another scoring drive going 70 yards of real estate using just 4 plays which was culminated by the quarterback’s 42 yard run that had so much weaving that Fredericksburg had a basket made from that run and a lead to boot.

Once again it would be a Hawk 70 yard response that had a Kobe Halverson catch going 43 yards and tie at the end of that first stanza.

                       Let’s GO HAWKS!

This game would take a break during a 2nd quarter with both schools scoring one touchdown a piece.

It was CLake that scored first for their first lead when Wheeler found Halverson this time for 51 yards.

FHS did take their final drive of this half for a score and that was when all the fun started.

On Fredericksburg’s extra point try that was a muffed attempt that had Halverson causing a fumble and then Peyton Vann looked like he was driving a Van with a host of Hawks 90 yards, on that trip not once did any of those CL players ask for anything to drink and a Hawk two point conversion, 22-20.

The second half would have CLHS with a chance to increase their lead which happened on a 75 yard drive that had explosive plays and Boals with smooth sailing for 50 yards and a Hawk, 9 point lead, 29-20.

Another Freddie score still had a CL 3 point lead, 29-26 but a CLake response would leave no doubt who would be the victor in this battle.

Three consecutive scores before a garbage score for the visitors who would be cleaning up that mess before traveling home.

Those scores?
Peyton King 14 yard pass.
Aiden Boals 9 yard run.
Ryan Rena 3 yard run.

The Lake now has 11 wins over Fredericksburg~~the most against any school while most Billy Goats do not like to get wet so hopefully they can swim home after a drenching tsunami win, 50-32.

Next up will be a home game against #4 ranked Kerrville Tivy and with a Hawk win it would secure a first place in district play.

Way to GO LAKE!
