Greatness!!!
One of the greatest things about me being out on the field as an official is that I get to relive some of the past feelings, emotions, and memories of my own past football career. I love the feel of it! The smell of it! The way the ball bounces, the blow of the whistle, and the sound of pads hitting together. It takes me back to so many thoughts and experiences as a player. Man I love this game!
I get a chance to play, ah excuse me, officiate football and make all of this become some of the greatest times I have ever had on the football field. One thing that I had forgotten is how it feels to be a part of a team. I see out on the field, young men working together to put together all the plans they have been working on throughout the weeks practices, how they listen to their coaches, and the way they lead one another through difficult situations on the field.

Head Coach Lloyd Fields
Bracken Christian Warriors start defending their State Championship Trophy this evening and the ReSporter would like to spend some time with Head Coach Lloyd Fields each Friday before the game to give fans some nuggets.
“We are going to battle this evening,” Coach Fields started the conversation. “We are without two of our starters and Hill Country will coming in ready to play.”

The football season has officially started and Canyon Lake took care of Blanco

Junior Varsity get congrats after Victory over Blanco
Panthers last Thursday night at the Blanco stadium.
The game mirrored much of the same kinks that the ReSporter had encountered.
The schedule stated a start time of 7pm and yet by the time the ReSporter’s car drove up to the parking lot, the game was deep into the second quarter of the game.
The Hawks also made some great strides on second half drives only to see a missed handoff here, a snap miss the hands of the quarterback there, and the blade of grass catching the receiver for a take down before a catch that would of been to the house.

The climb up the mountain just had an extra boost for the young but talented BCS Volleyball team last Tuesday night at SACS.
The Lions are certainly a couple of classes ahead of the team from Bulverde, but the result was a true confidence builder.
The Warriors had just had a disappointing showing at the Geneva Tournament. The simple fact that Payton Stanush the libero for the team was at her sister’s wedding might have had a decent reason for the showing.
One of the happenings as a result of Stanush not being in attendance would be the rest of the team playing through the missing link and using that for an improvement when the team would be at full strength again.

Senior Defensive End Alex Kemp
This Summer the Hilltop ReSporter had a series of profiles on players, with Alex Kemp being the first one out of the shoot. The ReSporter would like to have a series of talks to players the week before the game where the discussion will be about the season and games played.
Kemp started the workouts a month ago sick. The illness put the All-District Defensive End a few pounds lighter and behind the other players.

All-District Senior Zach Henshaw
Canyon Lake Hawks have a tough schedule the first of the season. Teams from Sealy to Lavernia to Austin will all be some games that either put CLHS on the map or maybe a ghost town.
The last third of the season is what saved the team last year when the Hawks finished with a three game district win streak.
The first game up is the Wimberley Texans.
Wimberley has been picked by Texas Football Magazine as one of the winners in the 3A brackets. The game this year will have a Hawk team that will be returning from Navarro and based on last years game, Canyon Lake would like to have a solid win under their belt in district before facing the Texans.

Sport News | Comments Off on 3rd Edition for the Hawks breaking down the Games

All State Running Back Grady Achilles
Bracken Christian has had book-end seasons the past few years. The season starts with good teams and ends with good teams. In between the Warriors have yet to be beaten the past four years.
This time we will go over the last four games of the year.
CASA is the next game and the Warriors own a 3-0 record against the team from San Antonio. In fact, CASA has yet to play a four quarter game against BCS. All the games have been Mercy games.
This year should be no different. There has not been any reports of mutations in San Antonio that would make the players better than what the Warriors are bringing back to the field this season.

Sport News | Comments Off on BCS 3rd Edition of Breaking down the Schedule
The Canyon Lake Hawks ran into a Mikesky (other synonym ‘Buzz Saw’) last Friday night at the Hawk gym, 14-25, 20-25, and 17-25.
The Mikesky sisters dominated the night in every statistical category but blocks in the game. The older sister will be heading to play at Florida University next year and the younger sister is just a freshman.
“She (L. Mikesky) was a hitter,” middle hitter Katie Williams said. “She had a big arm.”
Williams was inspired by the competition and played one of her best games of the season.
