The Hawks are fighting with three teams for two playoff spots as district play goes into the second round.

Lady Hawks Beat Navarro, 11-3

The Canyon Lake Softball team beat the Navarro Panthers, 11-3 scoring in every inning but one last Tuesday night on the road.

The Hawks have plugged in their extension cord after suffering a power outage as recently as last week. In the last two games Canyon Lake has scored 24 runs improving the most important part of the game….scoring. Read the rest here »

The Last Hurdle for Polio

img_2636This past Saturday at Canyon Lake High School the interact club held their relay for life benefiting Polio.

Keegan Collins headed up the endeavor as the interact club were up bright and early for the 5K and fun run. Whether you were running or walking they had something for everyone.

“Last November we came up with this idea and we have been ‘running’ with it ever since,” Organizer Collins said. “We started at about seven this morning putting it all together.” Read the rest here »

Hawks lose to Marion, 9-8

imageThe Canyon Lake Hawks are still looking for the right mojo as District play gets going in earnest.

The Marion Bulldogs persevered in their win over the Hawks last Saturday at the Hawk diamond. The game got away from Canyon Lake in the last inning when the Hawks had two costly errors allowing the winning run to cross the plate. Read the rest here »

The Hawks scored some much needed runs in their win over San Angelo Central last Friday at the Canyon Lake Softball field.

The Hawks were running on a streak of not having more than two runs in the previous three games and responded with a break our inning, scoring five runs in the first. Read the rest here »

Canyon Lake Boy’s Track Continues Trek

The Hawk Track team finished third in the Wimberley Track field last Thursday, March 24th, scoring 97 points.

The teams placing first and second were 4A schools, Dripping Springs and Lehman.

The Hawks not only fault the teams but the wind was brutal. The relays and athletes still came through.

“We were encouraged with the way the relays performed,” Head Coach Levi Montgomery said. “(Daniel) Camarillo did a good job filling in for (Zach) Henshaw, and overall we feel that we are in a position to be successful in all three relays at district.” Read the rest here »

Softball: CL suffers power outage in loss, 1-0

img_2518The Canyon Lake Hawks could not get the run to put the team in prime position in district play, when they lost a one run game to Fredericksburg Billies last Tuesday in Fredericksburg.

This was the second game in a row where the Hawks played some very good defense as pitcher Missy Romero only mustered two strikeouts.

In the fifth inning the Billies had runners on third and second after a double with one out. Enter the defense in full display when leftfielder Megan Browning caught the flyball and threw a strike to Katy Payne gunning out the Billie trying to score. Read the rest here »
