Canyon Lake was a no show during the second half as Liberty Hill took control of this game winning, 38-17 and advancing to the next round.
“We made too many mistakes and good teams will capitalize on that,” Head Coach Charley Drum said. “We had some missed tackles and when you get into the playoffs, every play is important.”
The first half had the Hawks leading in every statistical component, but when the curtain was raised to start the second stanza, CL was stuck in neutral. The Hawks were able to garner just 63 total yards during this period of the game as LH started hitting their stride gaining 212 rushing yards allowing the home team to run out the clock once their lead was established.

BCS Gets Back on Track, Beat Victoria Faith, 59-06

Bracken Christian won their final game of the regular season over Victoria Faith Cougars, qualifying for the playoffs, 59-0.
The Warriors went into their final home and regular season contest needing a win for a chance of playing win or go home games and passed that test with flying colors in this battle.
“I think we’ve made great strives forward,” Head Coach Hosea Hedric stated. “I believe we as a team have learned from each other, so the trust we have grown to have in each other is really cool.”
BCS started this game with a fumble on their first drive as Cristian DeLeion took an end around hand off to the goal line but fumbled on his fall that had Reese, on the spot, Smith there to recover the fumble in the end zone.
Football: Did You Know This?

Did You Know This?
Canyon Lake’s loss last Friday against Taylor had situations that if you had told the ReSporter would happen, then a win would have been predicted.
Case in point:
There was not one 4th down conversion tried in the game.
The Hawks have made a conscious effort to continue a drive at all costs. This has happened on multiple situations this campaign. In Friday night’s game there were a few times when a 4th down had a result of a punt (2 times) or a field goal (1 time).
Since that did not come about, then it would tell the you that the offense was working well enough that a conversion was not needed.
Canyon Lake Can’t Stop the Ducks in Loss, 50-44

Canyon Lake will need to use mirrors in their next game with the Taylor Ducks as they once again took a win home after a Hawk 17 point lead during the first half that was decimated in the 2nd quarter and an eventual Duck win, 50-44.
“We knew they would be good,” Head Coach Charley Drum said after the game. “We came out ready to play but it is a new season now.”
CL finished their regular season with 7 wins while finishing 2nd in District 14-4A with a date next week against Liberty Hill.
