Below are Softball & Baseball Standings as the Boys will squeeze in one district game before district teams have their final tournaments this weekend. Then district will start with each team playing each district opponent. After that first round then district will have those 2 game series each week to finish this season.
The Lake’s Softball team finished first in this past week’s Blanco Tournament undefeated with the only blemish a tie against Blanco in a contest that had some starters not present which certainly would have changed that outcome.
Canyon Lake Softball had a solid game beating the Luling Eagles, 8-3 behind a 13 strikeout stint for Gabby Barnes who also contributed some power with a 2-run homer and double.
Canyon Lake and Marble Falls battled it out Tuesday and ended up with a 2 run win for the good gals, 14-12. In fact, this battle lasted longer than the Alamo skirmish by using 282 combined pitches, 26 runs, 24 hits, 13 walks, 2 hit batters, 6 errors, a collision on the base paths and several visits between coaches and game officials.
Canyon Lake’s Softball team got their season underway with a resounding win over Randolph, 18-0 and will be back in action on Thursday with a double header with the first game with Hyde at 2:00pm and then back to the diamond against McKinney North at 6:00pm. These will be played at the Hawk Nest.

Rain delay was the winner this past week and after several rescheduled notices District 27-4A came up with a plan to have all the schools set Monday for that make-up game and then immediately starting this week’s Tuesday-Friday battles.
The first round of Baseball in district play has played out showing one school that has separated from the rest of the pack (sorry Davenport).
Just the facts, will give you an idea of this week’s Standings Article after both Softball and Baseball still look for their first district win.
