Canyon Lake has had several Freshman grades in the past that have posted some good results when starting their first year in high school. Some of those classes were back in 2012 when those ladies helped Volleyball-Basketball-Softball with Alexis Robinson having the biggest impact replacing one of the best softball players, pitcher Missy Romero.
This year’s Hawk Softball team was a totally different squad the previous year and that newness and improvement can be seen in the All-Time and Season Stats below.

Hawk Softball had an early exit from this year’s post-season but strides were made in these last two seasons with several players that raised their game while improving CL’s record with 12 more wins this season.

Canyon Lake had their best district record since their District Championship run 4 years ago in amassing the largest come from behind win (11 runs) over Davenport, 18-14.

Canyon Lake used a power and surge and piled it on in win over Bandera, 20-1. A total turn-a-round from that first game that finished with a CL, 3-2 advantage.

Canyon Lake Softball swept Wimberley on Tuesday and will now carry a 4-2 record to Fredericksburg on Friday for a chance to take aim for a chance to achieve a 2nd place finish in District 28-4A.

Canyon Lake was able to stop their 2 game slide against the District 28-4A stalwarts in beating Bandera and evening their district record to, 2-2.

Hawk Softball beat Wimberley to start their district schedule and will face two teams with a good resume in Fredericksburg and Boerne this week. Freddie will be a Tuesday home game before traveling to the Greyhounds for Friday.
