Steele had Knightmares in, 45-0 Loss to Hawk Freshman
The Steele Freshman had a hard time getting to sleep after a rude awakening in the form of negative yardage and CL Freshmen scoring 7 touchdowns with that longest drive in the first half needing 5 plays scoring on a Jaxson Cameron 5 yard scamper with a little over one minute before a half-time break.
It was running back Isaac Torres who would punish any Knight that was unfortunate enough to be in front of this run-a-way freight train on his 80 yard first Hawk score.
Torres finished with 106 yards on his three carries but The Lake would use other more weapons during this scoring spree.
Carter Steams had these Knights seeing steam coming from their armor on his 32 yard run to close out that first stanza, 13-0.
Steams would block a punt next then on his next play score again on a 10 yard bruising run and a Hawk, 19-0 lead.
QB Coen Vanlandingham would connect with Darion Gallo going 10 yards after a Steele fumble with still, 6:15 remaining.
Canyon Lake’s longest 1st Half drive had two explosive plays with a 19 yard catch and run for Brady Holladay and then a Cameron 18 yard run leading to an eventual, 33-0 halftime lead.
CLake’s second half started a little slower but a Barrett Rutherford interception was followed with a bad snap on a punt play by the visitors that had Steams scoring on his end-zone recovery. Knights were falling everywhere getting out of the way of this Steams’ wrecking ball recovery.
That Hawk last score came when Ethan Sinner found Jacob Stanley on his crossing play and 29 yards later crossing the goal line for a final score on this knight, 45-0.
These Knightmares saw Canyon Lake looking like a dragon with Steam(s) coming out of their armor.
The Lake will be back in action on the road at Davenport next week on a Wednesday evening.
