Viking’s Ship Last Seen Burning into the Sunset at the Lake’s, 35-12 Win

Lago Vista started this contest after The Lake JV took their opening possession down to the LV’s 14 yard line but a defensive stop produced no results for this CLJV players.

The Lake’s defense would recover a Viking fumble on their first time with the ball and that was all it took for your Hawks to traverse 32 yards in 4 plays scoring on a Collin Armstrong 11 yard scamper with 2 minutes left in that first frame.

L-Vista would answer next going 60 yards on a passing play but a missed pass conversion still had The Lake with a slim, 7-6 advantage.

Armstrong was getting Legstronger and had 4 runs covering 75 yards with an explosive 45 yarder to start this series. Armstrong would finish with 188 yards via the ground game on this night.

Canyon Lake would score with 4 seconds remaining in that first quarter and a Hawk, 14-6 lead. Three scores by both schools in those last 3 minutes in this opening quarter.

But The Lake was not finished after another defensive stop had Canyon Lake using the airwaves for their next score when QB Coen Vanlandingham found Christian McClellan on two consecutive plays the first going 10 yards but was followed with a 33 yarder for another quick score, 21-6.

McClellan would finish with 109 receiving yards as that first half ended with ArmStronger’s running showed 141 yards while McClellan with a lofty 80 yards through his receiving.

That final half started with a Viking fumble and with just two more drives would not find any rhythm especially after CLJV scored in the 4th quarter Hayden Gemar added his second touchdown reception going 16 yards and final score.

Gemar was dramatic with his one play 30 yard reception that ended CL’s first half.

It was a Jaydon Alvarez jarring tackle to end the Vista’s night which capped a solid defensive effort in allowing two touchdowns.

A lot of fireworks as this Viking ship was last seen burning into the sunset in this Hawk, 35-12 win.
