CL Girl’s Place Third at CL Basketball Tourney, Beat Bandera
The Canyon Lake Girl’s Basketball team outscored the Bandera Bulldogs, 27-14

in the second half getting the separation needed to finish Third at the Second Annual Canyon Lake Basketball Tournament at the Hawk Gym last Saturday.
Caitlin Gillum dished out three assists had five steals while scoring 13 points helping the Hawks put the Dogs in their Holiday Kennel.
Katie Williams also scored nine of her 10 points in the fourth quarter giving the Hawks a deadly duo and a hard fought win.
Canyon Lake will be facing Bandera two more times this year when district play starts so this game had a little more flavor to it knowing the opponent will be facing you when the season counts.

point lead into intermission.
The second half finally allowed CL to get a lead and hold onto an eight point lead going into the final stanza.
“We were trying to come out strong and take it to them,” Guard Gillum said. “This win was good for our confidence, but we still have to prepare.”
The Bulldogs were seeing colors as the Hawks lit them up with a furious fourth quarter helping Bandera seeing Red.
Canyon Lake next game will be Tuesday as they take the road to Lampasas.
District play will start at Navarro next Friday when the season will get serious.
